I’m Ally Kirkpatrick, a writer and multimedia producer interested in telling stories that help people and organizations grow.

I’m currently wrapping up my M.A. in digital storytelling and narrative nonfiction at the Gallatin School of Individualized Study at New York University. My study and practice-based research at Gallatin has been supported by two Dean’s Conference grants and a thesis completion grant.

By day I advise undergraduates at NYU Steinhardt’s department of Media, Culture, and Communication (MCC). At MCC I teach two sections of a new student seminar, tell social media stories, program educational and professional development events, and advise a global honors program.

In the past I’ve been a writer in residence at the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts and the Vermont Student Center. My writing has been published in Guernica Magazine and Edible DC.  In 2015 I was a recipient of the Sony IFP Marcie Bloom Fellowship in Film.

I live, write, and do lots of baking in Brooklyn.
