This week I read, and loved, The Situation and the Story by Vivian Gornick.
I watched the Knick, because it’s on HBO for a bit, leading up to its second season. And it is so good. The camera/the feel/the characters/the dialogue/the story. All of it.
And I listened to the podcast Death, Sex, and Money, which in recent episodes focused on stories from the residents from New Orleans ten years after Hurricane Katrina.
Audio storytelling is so perfect for intimate, personal stories like these. They’re told mainly by the subject then perfectly produced by Anna Sale, and they’re just magic.
